Message: My daughter started taking English, Math & Science tuition from Mr. Mokhtar in the 2nd semester of her P5 year in 2007. He came highly recommended by a friend whose son is also Mr. Mokhtar's student. Mr. Mokhtar's approach was to understand my daughter totally: not only her problems in study but also to understand her character, way of thinking and likes and dislikes. He believes that he can help his student the best when he understands them well so as to tailor an individual learning method. Our main target was for my daughter to achieve an average result in the PSLE as we always thought she was just average in her academics. However, after Mokhtar taught my daughter for a short time, he assured us that she has a very logical mind and she could, in fact, be very good in academics. Mokhtar was very patient with her and he found the right balance to encourage her without putting too much pressure on her, especially since she has an extremely busy CCA schedule. Her PSLE results were beyond our expectations and she was able to get into our 1st school of choice. Mokhtar taught my daughter that she can succeed when she has confidence of herself and to believe in herself. He is not only a teacher but he has also become a friend of our family. We highly recommend Mokhtar to any student.

Message: I was in need of tuition badly and had no more time as my IELTS was just around the corner when I stumbled upon Mr. Mokhtar's on the internet. He was kind enough to slot me in for a few English lessons. On the first day I did not know what to expect. But with Mr. Mokhtar’s friendly nature, I felt comfortable.
Mr. Mokhtar has a wide range of knowledge about all sorts of subjects and manages to squeeze in jokes to make his lessons fun and interesting. He helped me a lot for my English essays giving me tips and correcting my mistakes. He is a patient teacher.
I took the IELTS at first without any tuition and failed but with Mr. Mokhtar’s help, I have sat for the IELTS exam a second time and passed with flying colours.
I would recommend Mr. Mokhtar as a tuition teacher not only because he has a wide range of knowledge but also because he takes keen interest in his students. That’s the passion every tuition teacher should have!

He has helped me gain a profound interest in the English language and the questions he sets or gives always seem to be very closely related to those set in the exams. Message: Mr. Mokhtar is a marvellous English teacher! He helped me to improve my SAT I score from 2050 to 2240 within 3 sessions! My writing jumped from 610 to 780! Is that MAGIC? He is such a resourceful, experienced and patient gentleman. He knows all the tips about the test and is willing to share all with his students.

Message: Before I became a student of Mr. Mokhtar’s, I did just enough to get by in my lower sec years. With the stakes raised, I needed to know more and a B4 would not be enough to prepare me for the ‘O’ Levels. I asked Mr. Mokhtar to be my tutor. Upon obtaining an A2 for English in the ‘N’ Levels, I experienced firsthand how Mr. Mokhtar’s methods helped put me on the right, and better track to the ‘O’ Levels in 2007. I continued with him for the final stretch, and there was no room for new errors and old habits. With thorough practice and new English study habits in my arsenal, I was ready for the ‘O’ Levels. Upon receiving my result slip a few months later, tears of joy streamed down my face as I had received an Á2 for English.
Apart from studies, Mr. Mokhtar and I converse a lot during our sessions with topics ranging from school and personal issues to politics and global events. I am comfortable in sharing my personal views with him, while he is always able to give me his honest and constructive comments. Mr. Mokhtar introduced me to reading various genres and authors of fiction. My love of reading spanned further and deeper as my choices diversified.
With secondary school behind me, I still continue my sessions with Mr. Mokhtar to keep my mind and vocabulary growing. With months before I trade my pen/keyboard for the rifle, Mr. Mokhtar helps me prepare for what lies ahead.

Message: I've always been a mediocre student, but in a short span of 2 months, I got a 530-point increase in my SAT with the help of Mr. M. Message: Mr. Mokhtar has inspired me to better English. Before, I looked upon the subject as only a barrier between Secondary and Pre-U education. But, now I feel can feel great joy in reading and a sense of fulfillment every time I finish writing an essay. Because of him, I feel that English is no longer a barrier or obstacle but a road - a road that is gentle and smooth. I would have never discovered, especially, the pleasure of reading and writing without his help, and becoming a writer would never have become my ambition.

Message: When I first met Mokhtar, my grades were at a disastrous low, and it was not helping that I had just changed school systems (from a Singapore system to an international one). The first couple of lessons were about getting to know each other, because Mokhtar believed that it's better to get to know a person first. He believed in building a personal relationship to enable a more comfortable environment to study in. This helped a lot because I felt comfortable when I needed to ask questions, not fearing a cranky old man to tell me that tuition time was tuition time. Regular updates were also requested from him and this enabled me to remember that i actually had home work! Through Mokhtar's hard work and preseverance (well, including mine), I was able to not only pull my grade up, but also to have a strong work ethic and a passion to learn. My grade went up from a C to an A- in 3 months. But it was not just about the grades, Mokhtars patient guidance and sense of humor stimulated my passion for learning too. Id recommend Mokhtar to all students!

Message: Mokhtar has been my English tutor for more then 4 months now and my command of the language has improved tremendously. I started off as an unconfident writer and often confused about the use of this lingo but he gave me continual encouragement to write, read and speak the language. My improvement is all rounded, not only on basic grammar, but also on word choice, writing style and organization of a piece writing.
Mokhtar has a wide knowledge on various topic of interest, we have talked about and he has recommended me several books on various topics: business; current affairs; religion; science and many more. I have acquired knowledge on these topics and learnt good English at the same time; my lessons are ever enriching.
I would strongly recommend Mokhtar as a tutor, especially for students who needs higher level of guidance on the use of the English language because of his experience and extensive knowledge on a good number of topics which enables him to point out other improvement needed rather than just basic grammar. For other levels, I would still recommend Mokhtar as learning good English should starts early.

Message: I am a foreign student in Singapore. The greatest problem for me is English language.
I found Mr Mokhtar through a friend. To me, Mr. Mokhtar has the power to let you feel free to talk to him. He is a patient, gentle and meticulous man. He is always attentive to what you say and gives you a smile with his detailed answer.
Mr Mokhtar finds a special way to teach each student. In Chinese , a great teacher is one who uses a different way to teach each sort of people. Mr Mokhtar really can do that. And he is also a modern tutor using e-mail to collect students homework. It can save so much time. Plus the problem can be found out before the students forget what they had done. I also found Mr Mokhtar to be a humorous person - he always puts things in a funny way. It makes our sessions really fun!
I have been tutored with Mr. Mokhtar only since July, but already I have improved my English skills. Not only that, I have also found my confidence in speaking a foreign language to communicate others. Mr Mokhtar is the one I am looking for, to be my guide and path leader for English language.
